A basic and well-known spaghetti recipe that will always make perfect pasta. Garlic, basil, and Parmesan cheese come together to make a tasty sauce that goes well with spaghetti.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 4 quarts water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil
Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente
Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat
Add minced garlic and saut until fragrant, about 1 minute
Pour in crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer for 10 minutes
Stir in chopped basil and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes
Once spaghetti is cooked, drain and return to the pot
Pour the tomato sauce over the spaghetti and toss until evenly coated
Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese
