Ingredients:
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F 175C
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute until smooth
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened
Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme, parsley, and oregano
Remove from heat and stir in shredded Swiss and Gruyere cheeses until melted
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, diced chicken, diced ham, and cheese sauce
Mix well to combine
Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish
In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese
Sprinkle evenly over the pasta mixture
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly
